"I try to share how I see skiing in such a way that it motivates people, young and old, to look at our sport and the terrain with a fresh perspective."
Chris is a skier notoriously known for his buttery pillow lines and artistic backcountry airs. While he has skied in films produced by companies like Poorboyz, TGR, Sweet Grass, Warren Miller, as well as Nimbus Independent Productions (started by himself and other freeskiing heavy hitters), his humble and down-to-earth nature is ever-present. Chris grew up in Bishop, CA, with Mammoth Mountain as his backyard playground. He transitioned from ski racing to freeskiing at an early age when he realized he had a gift for acrobatic flight on two skis. Chris now has his own pro model ski with Atomic, “The Bent Chetler,” and has put his artistic talents to good use developing multiple signature items including pieces for Dragon and Dakine.
Currently, Chris and his wife, Kimmy Fasani, a professional big mountain snowboarder (and CLIF Athlete), travel the world chasing powder in the winter. In the off-season you can find these two fun-hogs pursuing their other passions. If they aren't on the snow, you will most likely catch them mountains biking, surfing or rock-climbing.
Proudest Moment:
I am proud, or better yet very grateful that I have managed to turn my main passion in life into a career. I think it is important and very healthy to love what you do, so I am very thankful to have found that path in life.
What Music Do You Rock Out to On the Mountain:
I actually rock out to nature. I love music, mainly classic rock, but I don’t ride with music. I think it’s very important to have awareness and less distractions when you are in the mountains. I try to be present and take in my experience and surroundings.
