"Trust in the process. Everything comes together exactly when it is supposed to."
My name is Elena Hight. I am a professional snowboarder, nature enthusiast, and sunshine lover. I have spent the better part of my 17-year snowboarding career competing in the halfpipe in events from the U.S. Open to the Olympics. I now focus my attention on riding big mountains. Outside of snowboarding, I am passionate about yoga, surfing, mindfulness, and protecting our Earth.
What other sports do you love?
I was born in Kauai, Hawaii, and my dad is a lifelong surfer. When we relocated to the mountains, teaching our family to snowboard was the first thing on his list. I loved it immediately and became his riding partner from that day on. I always wanted to turn like my dad—he had the best surf-like style on his board ... still trying to master that.
What is your favorite road trip snack?
When I was a kid, from age 7 to 12, my family used to go to amateur snowboard contests every weekend all around Lake Tahoe’s different resorts. Our number-one car snack and pocket snack for the hill was the original Clif Bar: chocolate chip or white chocolate chip macadamia nut. Still to this day, when I eat those flavors, I get nostalgic and it brings me back!
